Veikkausliiga 26.6

RoPS - Ilves

Both had a rare good game and got a deserved win last week.

Odds chart from Sportmarket Pro.

SJK - Kemi

SJK seems rather defensive tonight.

22.6.2017

Veikkausliiga 22.6

VPS without important mf Lähde. They rarely win when he is out. The key however is whether RoPS can pressure the ball from VPS at their own danger zone or not. 1-1.

HJK continue with gk Uusitalo who is a good kid. This time Mensah, Mosa and Obilor benched too. Guess they can afford it anyway. MIFK fired their failure striker Lucky Mkosana back to NY Cosmos. MIFK goal would surprise, but these is far from the hottest HJK attacking-wise. 1,2-0

Ilves and SJK both big underperformers, especially Ilves do not quite deserve their points. Horrible at home. SJK sacked already 2 managers this season and it says all about their form. Important Hetemaj out of SJK and experiments also otherwise trying to find best possible lineup. 1-1.

21.6.2017

Veikkausliiga 21.6

Three matches, tasty winners impossible to find.

HIFK rotating keeper Maanoja who actually has been their best player so far, important mf Väyrynen out. Both of these have deserved to win once, and it is very difficult to see either of them deserving it today, but home side needs to be a tiny favourite here.

Lahti have played so far one game where they deserved all 3 points, now they are on a disgusting 0-0 run of 4 games and for a reason as they create no chances. Today missing mf Helmke who should be their best player but has not yet impressed. Hard to see Lahti winning now either.

Inter manager Shefki Kuqi has benched his brother which is a surprise. Nr 1 keeper Moisander injured.
KuPS fullback Sorsa suspended, mf Nissilä out for the season. Inter a narrow favourite.

15.6.2017

HJK vs JJK 15.6

HJK without gk Dähne (not announced why), top scorer Morelos who transferred to Rangers and playmaker Mosa, suspended. A bit of rotation in defence too, which is normal.

14.6.2017

Veikkausliiga 14.6.2017

Some notes to follow...

HIFK miss mf Mika Väyrynen badly. At SJK there is a new manager but the starting 11 almost unchanged.

MIFK without any striker as Kangaskolkka is somewhere and Lucky is not good enough. Perhaps it is winger Span who takes the role of the lone striker?

KuPS Salami and Duah suspended, Nissilä injured for the rest of the season. What happens here is beyond me, but can not like VPS who take risks only in the defence.

Market move charts taken a bit after lineups were published. Sportmarket PRO as the source.

12.6.2017

Veikkausliiga team of May 2017

As chosen by the players themselves.

 (4-2-3-1):
Otso Virtanen (KuPS)
Rafinha (HJK) – Timi Lahti (VPS) – Ville Jalasto (HJK) – Juha Pirinen (HJK)
Mehmet Hetemaj (SJK) – Gabriel Petrovic (IFK Mariehamn)
Urho Nissilä (KuPS) – Steven Morrissey (VPS) – Robbin Sellin (IFK Mariehamn)
Morelos (HJK)

Player of the month: Morelos (HJK)

Manager of the month: Jani Honkavaara (KuPS)

*****
Morelos is off to Glasgow Rangers
Nissilä suffered a bad injury in their latest and will be out quite a some time.

4.6.2017

Veikkausliiga 4.6

HIFK vs Ilves

HIFK having problems in their CB dept, Ilves are rotating rather  strongly because of horrible performances recently and expected key players Hilander and Tendeng benched. Finally a chance for HIFK to deservedly win a game, but would not bet on it.

KuPS vs MIFK

Both having more or less 100 % expected lineups, as usual. These teams do not rotate more than 1-2 players at the time. KuPS been good all season, MIFK not at all. KuPS +55% to win.

RoPS vs HJK

There are 4 HJK ex-players in RoPS starting 11, and naturally they want to show what they can do. On the other hand they are out of HJK for a reason. HJK continuing with the same formation which proved to be rather good in the 6-0 win over SJK.

0-3 in the cards.

3.6.2017

Veikkausliiga 3.6

Asian odds:

To be updated, but here are the lineups:

Lahti vs VPS

VPS resting Morrissey who is about 100% of their danger threat. Perhaps he comes from the bench, and anyway Lahti poor in the attack, Stenio and Simonovski are not much to be afraid of even in this league.

Kemi vs JJK

Relegation fight nr 1. Kemi the only one of these who have shown something, but it has been as an underdog and they are supposedly the one with the ball and can not see it going too well.

SJK vs Inter Turku

SJK manager fired which is a good reason alone to forget about thinking this match. Material-wise both are top teams behind HJK.

1.6.2017

Breaking news - SJK fired manager Sixten Boström

Nothing personal here, but I did see this coming from day 1 as Boström simply is not a winning coach.

The last straw was the 6-0 thrashing in the hands of HJK, the club where Boström already had been sacked a few years back in the middle of the season.

All the best Sixten!

The new manager is Spanish Jose Manuel Roca, I do not know about him more than I get from google, but he is going to be in charge already on Saturday vs Inter Turku and we will soon find out more!

Boström when everything was still hunky dory
