Veikkausliiga 2015 preview(s)

Now I am not going to write any myself this season in any language, but if I find any in English I will link them here.

What again happened in Veikkausliiga 2014?

HJK actually lost round vs RoPS and VPS lost vs MIFK in the early rounds, but both match results were changed in the cabinets  and the official stats are below.

HJK were once again outstanding, SJK proved to be good. TPS were weakest team as expected but the most interesting and sorry fact is that both MyPa and Honka were denied a league license for 2015 for financial reasons. A decision which should had taken place earlier.

2015 there is no MyPa nowhere, Honka continue at Kakkonen and they are coming back with an excellent squad.

Veikkausliiga rankings 2015

Creating a ranking for leagues like Veikkausliiga is a pain. Most clubs are so short of material that any key injuries may have a massive effect, there are dozens of new foreigners coming in just before the season, and in August the best performed players may leave the club as the transfer window opens again.

However this season there is a consensus of how it goes in the top-2 and in the bottom-4, the rest are all more or less equal.

In the table below there is a ranking of a local sports paper and a few others just to give you an idea. It is not important whose rankings they are and almost everyone more or less agrees, although there are still people who believe a lot in FC Lahti. We will see how it goes.

Veikkausliiga 2015 1st round odds and some critical news

HIFK vs VPS match is cancelled and will be played sometime later. HIFK play at HJK´s stadion Sonera and they have not yet finished the change of the artficial surface.

Ilves vs KuPS also very likely postponed, that match was meant to be played on natural grass but there is not much green just yet.

Lahti vs KTP was also on the short list to be postponed but it should take place on natural grass at Kisapuisto.

Jaro will take this match to their reserve pitch which is basically just a training ground, but a artificial pitch.

Inter will play on natural grass. Good work there!

RoPS have an artificial ground these days. This is almosst a replay of the league cup final last week when HJK won 0-2 at the same place.
