Veikkausliiga team of the month April 2009

The league chooses a 4-4-2 ideal formation each month and April team is presented below:


Goalkeeper: Markus Koljander (Jaro)

Defence: Jukka Raitala (HJK) – Paulus Arajuuri (IFK) – Heikki Haara (Lahti) – Pietari Holopainen (Haka)

Midfield: Wayne Brown (TPS) – Valeri Popovits (HJK) – Jukka Vanninen (Lahti) – Ilari Äijälä (MYPA)

Strikers: Hermanni Vuorinen (Honka) – Sasha Anttilainen (IFK)

Player of the month: Hermanni Vuorinen (Honka) 6 goals in 3 games
Coach of the month: Pekka Lyyski (IFK) 2-1-0. All games home though.

A bit odd team, but as this is more for fun than pure science I do not want to argue too strongly. There is one forecast I would like to make however - this is the first and last time when we see Anttilainen in the spotlight or he has improved hell of a lot since last season!
