From now on here will be "daily" updates of what is going on in Finnish Football World, both betting wise and from the football 's perspective.
Roughly the plan is to go through what happened yesterday and what is going on today. Here will be a few links to highlights, what is on offer in the betting world and the key news of the leagues.
Not all of them. Not exactly daily as there will also be days when there is no time for a meaningful update but you will see how it goes.
This is also the place where most of the questions will be answered if the time allows, but I am not here 24/7 and it is unlikely that I would go through any of today's matches even if you ask nicely.
For me this should be both useful and fun. Stress free. Compared to the previous "life" I am not estimating all matches of all leagues anymore. More importantly I am not writing hundreds of detailed previews of all Veikkausliiga and Ykkönen matches as it was very tiring in the end as the schedule is very heavy and usually there is not much new to add since previous round's matches. No I write of the things I like, if I have the time.
Here will be no detailed previews, but when the time allows some confirmed lineups which are behind a password in other services will be published.
No bragging of any succesful suggested winners. Neither no self pity for any possible losers, but possibly a few notes of why markets have reacted the way they did, and why some of the matches ended the way they did.
Welcome to join the ride!

Updated May 31st 2011.
Ask for details if the products are unfamiliar to you.
Match Day Edition is the basic product consisting usually of two daily Newsletters; the first after the odds are published and especially on Veikkausliiga match days an update with market moves and lineup analysis.
"Live" is delivered by SMS or email and consists of one or suggestions of day´s matches, usually sent at HT for practical reasons. Short, quick and efficient. Ideal for those who want to spend no time in reading and studying but valuable picks easily and steadily delivered almost on daily basis.
PRO is those two above combined and it is a good tool if have the opportunutity to spend time with Finnish football betting.
There will be no talk of fixed games or sure bets or "insider" info, all picks are carefully hand-picked and analysed and should offer approx. 10 % of value, but sometimes the market moves make this rather challenging.
It is easy and cheap to try out, but no free trials are offered. Moneybookers admin@ftfinland.com is the channel unless you do not want to use international bank transfer directly to my business account.

No more Free Newsletters
Two basic reasons for it:
It is unfair towards paying customers to give out freebies, it has only been bits and pieces every now and then, but nevertheless I do not want my Premium customers to suffer as I rate them very highly.
My own good trust has been exploited, and though I could live with occasional requests for short and free trial periods the experience shows that from my point of view it is not worth it. In the worst case experience it lead to a fact where my name was used - picked from the Newsletter - and someone was buying services on credit by pretending to be the owner of this site and being me. Trying to be positive about it is of course very flattering that I am considered to be so reliable that my name and a fake hotmail address is convincing enough, but sometimes being positive is too much asked.
******
The footballing action goes on as all leagues have some 4-7 rounds played already. Some clubs are overperforming, some are underachievers and a good few of them are very unstable with good and terrible performances both home and away. The lower leagues have a busy schedule during international break, and there are full rounds at Ykkönen and Kakkonen.
*******
Contact admin@ftfinland.com for serious questions or feedback, or even to complain about a free pick that did not win and you lost money if you feel sharing that information helps, but since I started betting in the 90´s I have seen a few winning and losing bets and the success or misfortune of a few single picks is not that mind-blowing experience as it may feel. All serious emails will be answered to.

Bull´s eye with Friday previews
Who said Ykkönen and Kakkonen are difficult?
LINK
There were even very nice 2.1 odds available for OPS before kick-off, Kiffen under dropped like a stone from line 2.75 to 2.25 for a reason.
OPS - KPV 2-0
Kiffen - KTP 1-0

Finland early rounds review
Veikkausliiga clubs have played 4 rounds in a short period of time and today the table looks like this, JJK top the table and it is no surprise that MyPa are in the bottom.
| JJK | 4 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 7-3 | 10 | unstable but potential |
| HJK | 4 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 7-3 | 9 | champions also this season |
| Inter | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 6-2 | 7 | still lack the match-killer |
| Mariehamn | 4 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 7-4 | 7 | solid |
| Honka | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2-4 | 7 | young, talented, make mistakes |
| TPS | 4 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 5-5 | 6 | most unstable, good and bad |
| Jaro | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 5-5 | 4 | not as good as last season |
| RoPS | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 5-6 | 4 | Fighters! Where will it take them? |
| VPS | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 3-5 | 4 | Mean at home, weak away |
| Haka | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4-7 | 4 | The world still think they are a power |
| KuPS | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4-7 | 4 | Will be upper half |
| MYPA | 4 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 1-5 | 1 | Relegation worries are for real. Gray |
HJK have already lost once, which is no surprise because they are not performing as reliably away than they do at home, but so far they have been convincing and are well on track for the title. In the bottom both RoPS and Haka have already won once, but when will the next win come? Next round on Thursday and Friday, one of the tastiest matches is Haka-Honka. Haka after all are the only club who did beat Honka in the pre-season in their own arena. Pay-back time?
Ykkönen clubs have played uneven amount of matches because there are 13 clubs in that league. Alll of them seem to have their problems. The biggest favourites Oulu and Lahti are missing strikers, Oulu because Jonke decided to leave the club and Lahti because of injuries of Rafael and Kemppinen. Most clubs are in relegation fight because 4 will be relegated directly and the biggest candidates for that are Espoo, HIFK and KPV. PoPa might be the surprise package to join the relegation battle instead of promotion fight. Lost all three and there is talk of economical worries in the organization.
Kakkonen have finished 3 rounds in all 3 groups A, B and C. Too early to make see any trends really and many of the clubs work as reserves to League clubs and for example former NT player and experienced professional Aki Riihilahti played for Klubi-04 last weekend in their 6-1 win over Kuusysi. Easy to see that at Kakkonen C SJK are exactly as good as expected and are unbeaten so far with a goal difference of 8-0.
Teams that are likely to rise a lot in the table when summer comes are at least Atlantis, and Kuusysi in group A, where also Sudet top my list of relegation candidates (3 or 4 from each group), in B there will one or two very lucky but bad teams as it is very much split into two categories. Ilves will top the league after the season and the other top-7 clubs are Jazz, BK-46, Pallo-Iirot, SalPa, Åbo IFK and JäPS, the remaining 5 will fight to win each other and stay in the league.
