HJK - Jaro preview HJK a bit better than I was hoping, but even with their best possible they are not great at the moment. HJK today: Wallen; Kansikas-Lahti-Lindström-Sumusalo; Zeneli-Okkonen-Perovuo-Savage; Pelvas-Pohjanpalo. Only Sorsa and Hakanpää completely out of squad today. No egyptian yet, striker Mäkelä out of starting lineup which is actually bad news for any Jaro backers today as he has been very undangerous this season after his unsuccesful spell in Australia. No defenders on bench except cb Moren, the rest are midfielders + gk and Mäkelä. Sumusalo is not that comfortable at right than as a left back but there are no options. Lahti has been hazardous in defense. The only midfielder who can be satisfied with his season so far is Zeneli on the left, and Pohjanpalo as only succesful striker. HJK have conceded at least once in every game since February if my memory serves me right, and that unlucky non-scoring team was MyPa in the league cup. Jaro; Kotenko; Banner-Vaganov-Vasiljev-Sara; Kronholm-Agyeman-Tahvanainen-Skrabb-Niang;Aalto. Unchanged from unsuccesful MyPa 2-0 loss away. Options from the bench for all departments, preferably I would like to see new signing DeFreitas who is rumoured to be very quick. In betting I have already taken Jaro +1.5. Odds have dropped but in Jaro´s latest game their odds rose hugely and same can happen anytime with HJK, so perhaps it is wisest to check out what the odds are closer to the kick-off. No opinion on match totals really but I believe in both teams scoring. No stream, but if you want to brush up your Swedish language Jaro homepage and Twitter account are producing live commentary, along with live stats they might help for possible live bets. RoPS have gained a total of one point from their last eight matches and losing to TamU at home 1-5 showed no signs of improvement and at the last place in the table RoPS are soon running out of time. MYPA fought well against KuPS and might have deserved more than a home loss of 1-2, but the dismissal of Antti Okkonen in the first half surely did not help.

RoPS have had injury worries, discipline problems, they lack a prominent goal-scorer and their coaches managing abilities have been questioned a lot of times. Still, staying in the league is in their own hands and MYPA is one of the teams RoPS are able to beat, despite having lost away 4-0 to them earlier this season.

Chanda Mwaba returns to RoPS line-up after suspension, but gk Kwon is still suspended and RoPS have to rely on very unexperienced gk K-P Syväjärvi who has not yet succeeded.

MYPA will take a long trip to Lapland without motivation and without key midfielder Antti Okkonen 5/0, their unexperienced strikers may face a task too difficult on the newly renovated artificial pitch at Rovaniemi Center, and perhaps even the Sambian players of RoPS have got used to it by now.

Betting: RoPS are the last in the league and quite deservedly so. Yet, they are one of the best home teams in the league and as MYPA are missing the only decent player they got through suspension there is value on the team that has motivation, RoPS. MYPA possesses no threat in front of goal.

Veikkausliiga first round!

Only 4 games will be played on time due to postponed games at Tampere, Myllykoski and Pietarsaari, and only two of them are played today.

HJK - KuPs will will be an example of how huge is the gap between top-3 and bottom-3 this year in the league. The visitors are also missing a bunch of players and my imagination is not that wild that I could see anything except a thrashing.

Correct score 5-1. Edit: FT 5-1. Easy home win.

TPS will beat Haka in Turku. I am not that enthusiastic about TPS either but Haka can not create goal chances neither score.

Correct score 2-0. Edit: FT 1-2. Poor performance by TPS.

Sunday 19th there is only one match when top-ranked Fc Honka meets Fc Lahti with Jari Litmanen. A huge match for the media, Honka is about 52 % favourite to win this underish-looking game. Prediction for correct score 1-0 a home win anyway. Edit : 2-2. The Lahti equalizer was an own goal by an overwhelmingly poor Koskimaa who is hopefully soon heading to the reserve team. Otherwise very entertaining game and good performance by Honka. Highlights from Honka tv here!

Monday 20th champions Inter Turku travel to Mariehamn, en even and low-scoring match to be expected but in my opinion MIFK should be a slight favourite, maybe 39-31-30.

A home win here too, 1-0 for Mariehamn.

Edit: FT 2-0. Inter was very poor is in big trouble as the performances suck in the early state of the season, but there are a lot of games in the early stages. Inter has no strikers availabale at the moment due injuries.
