A lot of transfers and mostly for the good. So much so that HJK this season looks better than ever and all those bullshit earlier from HJK camp "we will be younger and have more players from our youth team" can be forgotten and laughed at.

During the preseason HJK actually did not lose one game, but as explained earlier this preseason has given very little information about most of the teams and it is best ignored. Those lineups from February league cup games to the season opener may include only 1-3 same names.

Champion of 2016 unless something crazy happens. If manager Lehkosuo somehow manages to fail again with this squad I would recommend him some time off football.

From the list below Lod and Moren left early in the season and both were missed. Especially Robin Lod. The new HJK is not perfect and at some positions there is not much room for long-term injuries, but you do not need to be perfect to win Veikkausliiga. Even old-timer Mikael Forssell may perform well if we look at the numbers only as the service should be best ever. The list is never 100% complete and at least there is winger Formose Mendy missing from the out-category, he was on loan. Rafinha - the Gent defender - will likely be the last of the new signings but he can not yet be confirmed.

The next chance to see HJK  perform is the friendly on Friday away in Malmö. At least paid streams available.

Edit March 31st: Mf Klinga transfers to HJK bench to SJK bench. Hopefully he someday rises to the once expected.
