Cue the 0-1/0-2 scoreline. Have to admit the odds movement looks really scary, but unless Warkaus is missing most of their team there's not a plausible reason for TP-47's odds to be so low (Warkaus does talk about suffering injuries in YPA match, but no names are given apart from Ikudehinbu). TP-47 still has played only a one half of good football, and that was against PK-37 last week. So while that's an improvement, the overall parity/equality we've seen multiple times this year makes me really hard to make a team like TP-47 as away favorites. This week the coin landed on tails, so it's time to play overs. TP-47's defence has still looked really shaky, and the injury of Kovalev will probably not improve things. On the other side I'm still fairly confident that Warkaus is better in scoring and conceding goals this year than the average Kakkonen side.

GBK - PS Kemi 46 23 31

Yesterday didn't go well with the unders, but I don't know what the heck is the deal with 3.5 line for this game (maybe it has something to do with GBK's two high-scoring games) since neither should be that high-scoring overall.  As said before, both were expected to be the top teams this year, so the first 5 games have been equally disappointing. However, being equally disappointing does make the 1x2 easier to predict since the class difference was supposed to be quite small, so with -0,25 it's tough to find value.

TP-47 - PK-37 43 24 33
o/u 2.5: 54 46

TP-47's Konde, Kovalev and Kivilä are still questionable, PK-37 will likely still miss Halonen who was supposed to be one of their main attacking threats this season. TP-47 has shown nothing so far to deserve being a 55% favorite (european bookmakers); even the hopelessly out of form YPA handled them last week. PK-37's last results haven't been that impressive in the past two, but they could have easily gotten more from both games. Even in optimal conditions TP-47 shouldn't be that much better than PK-37 so anything near 55% is a stretch.

FC YPA - Warkaus JK 43 21 36
o/u 2.5: 67 33

Warkaus should have deserved a win from last week's KPV game and overall they've been much sharper than YPA. However, the odds for the away win are not really worth it. The start of the season has been extremely low-scoring save for a few flukes (I'm looking at you, GBK), but the asian bookies still continue to offer 3.0 or 3.25 lines so total odds are unlikely to offer anything either. YPA still misses Akmetkhanov and Heikkilä, no idea about Warkaus.

HauPa - AC Kajaani 42 22 36
o/u 2.5: 64 36

In the continuing effort to be more responsive to what is actually happening on the field, AC Kajaani should probably start planning their next year in Ykkönen especially after the complete dominance they showed against GBK. To be serious, it might have been one of the instances that training matches actually mattered since GBK won Kajaani earlier this year 8-0, but it doesn't change the fact that Kajaani is playing pretty good right now. HauPa lost to Santa Claus but according to the report they were even dominating at times, so no reason to do any adjustments. 1x2 odds look like they are spot on, Makowski being out takes a big chunk of HauPa's attacking threat off but I'm not that interested in the under mostly because of AC Kajaani.

KPV - FC Santa Claus 53 22 25
o/u 2.5: 57 43

Eurobookie odds are in line with my own estimations so there's not much to say here. KPV is slightly better but Santa Claus has shown to be really effective in front of the goal and as a result they've managed to squeeze out every possible point. With the addition of healthy Hänninen and the new players Edereho and Figho on top of the proven Ylipaavalniemi Santa's striking department could be actually classified as quite good for this level. It might be that I'm looking too much on KPV's last two games, but both teams should more towards the bottom tier when it comes to goals so under could be playable.

The Guardian about Joel Pohjanpalo:

8) Joel Pohjanpalo, HJK Helsinki 3 Mariehamn 1, April

Undisputed hat-trick of the season, for these reasons: it ticks the one-with-the-left-one-with-the-right-and-a-header box; it was scored by a 17-year-old making his full debut on the first day of a new season; and between the header with which he equalised and the low drive from 20 yards with which he completed his hat-trick and ended the contest in the 74th minute, just 162 seconds had elapsed. Just a few weeks earlier he had been on trial at Liverpool; fortunately it seems he left before their coaching methods could have too much of an influence.

+ Santa Claus and TP-47 unders, if they ever come back to their starting odds.

FC Santa Claus - HauPa 42 23 35
o/u 2.5: 56 44

HauPa looks really legit at the moment, but the bookies have caught it too so nothing fancy is being offered to the away team. Santa Claus has a couple of good home wins already, but their opponents haven't really had their things in order so the jury is still out there on whether they've improved from last year. The under is strong with this one as Santa's new tactics still indicate that they're more low-scoring this year.

TP-47 - FC YPA 53 21 26
o/u 2.5: 62 38

Both teams seem to be a mess right now, but I just feel that TP-47 has better potential to turn into a good team in the next few rounds. Luckily the eurobookie odds don't offer any value, because this is the type of match that I wouldn't like to touch anyway. In the usual Finnish fashion, team news will probably not be available since both teams are on a losing streak.

Warkaus JK - KPV 35 21 44
o/u 2.5: 68 32

The odds are surprisingly even, but I think KPV should be given much more credit than now. They might not have the most recognizable names around, but I suppose when you have Myntti it does not matter at all. They do, however, have some nasty missings (Kalliokoski, Paavolainen) so no need to go crazy with the staking. Warkaus has two wins in a row, but the victory against PK-37 was very undeserved and overall I'm still expecting them to be one of the bottom dwellers this season.

AC Kajaani - GBK 25 19 56
o/u 2.5: 70 30

I would have expected GBK to get higher odds, but I suppose the general feeling is still that they're the team to beat this year. Unless the total offers something surprising, this is likely a no bet.

PS Kemi - PK-37 58 20 22
o/u 2.5: 63 37

PS Kemi were handicapped by a red card to their goalkeeper in HauPa game, but they're still not exactly playing upto their potential. PK-37 is a nasty opponent for everyone and their start of the season has mostly been what was expected of them. PK-37 is dealing with some injury worries, but with the current odds it's PK-37 or nothing.

FC YPA - AC Kajaani O3.25 57% 1,87 4/10 188bet
HauPa - PS Kemi U3.25 60% 1,71 2/10 188bet
GBK - KPV +0,5 2 58% 1,98 5/10 188bet

FC Santa Claus - TP-47 39 23 38
o/u 2.5: 60 40

Santa Claus lost deservedly against Warkaus which probably was one of the few results so far in this season that have made any sense. They still missed Hänninen, but it looks like they've signed Figho and Edereho who could be thought as a reasonably good players for this level assuming they've not gained weight during the winter which for some reason happens quite often for foreign players. TP-47's 4-5 loss to GBK is just a mind-boggling result so any total bets are certainly off-limits. However, TP-47 did miss the three K's: Konde (gk), Kovalev and Kivilä, who all should be an important part of their defense this year. TP-47 should be the better team of these two, but considering the last week's results and the TP-47's unknown lineup it'd probably make sense to wait for the lineups.

FC YPA - AC Kajaani 55 19 26
o/u 2.5: 72 28

YPA looked really poor against Kemi, so in a rare moment of clarity I've dropped them a lot in the rankings until they actually start producing good results. YPA still misses two key players in Heikkilä and Akmethanov, on the other side AC Kajaani thinks that there is no need to do any public relations work at this level so don't expect to see any news on their injuries this year. Kajaani has had a pretty good start in the league but I'm still a bit cautious because Kakkonen isn't really a exception to the rule that promoted teams sometimes overperform in the start of the season. YPA obviously has had a poor start resultwise but it should still be kept in mind that 2/3 of those games (GBK away and Kemi away) are likely the toughest games that any team will face this year. With a a vs b vs c logic the line should be around -0,75, but even if it were different this is not the type of match that I'd like to touch anyway.

HauPa - PS Kemi 25 22 53
o/u 2.5: 58 42

Both teams shouldn't be missing anyone significant. HauPa's draw against KPV was a bit lucky but overall they look to be continuing where they left off in 2011. While Kemi looked good against YPA it will take something more than that to convince me to think they've improved their form. Something like Kemi -0,25 won't very likely happen, so let's hope for similar odds like in HauPa - GBK with a small bet on the home team this time. Total looks really under-like but like last week showed, crazy results can sometimes happen.

GBK - KPV 42 22 36
o/u 2.5: 64 36

GBK might have a slightly better material but this should be a really tight game, as evidenced by the first three matches of the season and the cup matches between these two in the winter. In the injury front, both teams could be missing one starter (GBK: Halonen, KPV: Paavolainen). edit: +0,5 and odds of over 2,00 for KPV look really weird, so line-up check could be a good idea.

AC Kajaani - PK-37 35 21 44
o/u 2.5: 70 30

Simply put I think PK-37 is just a more proven team at this level for the moment, so pk (0) or better would be very nice. Hopefully the total line will be 3.25 or lower since I'm still holding the belief that Kajaani's matches will have a lot of goals no matter the opponent (except HauPa and TP-47).

KPV - HauPa 63 20 17
o/u 2.5: 56 44

HauPa made a fool of me once again by beating GBK, but I think I've finally learned my lesson of betting against them on their home matches. However, away from home it should be a different thing, so I'm going with mostly the same estimation as in KPV-AC Kajaani game. Like the TP-47 game, this look very much like a under.

Warkaus JK - FC Santa Claus 43 20 37
o/u 2.5: 72 28

Santa Claus has supposedly returned to their long-ball, or p*rseroiskinta as the locals say, tactics that earned them a spot in the promotion play-offs a few years ago. Of course the team is not nearly the same but who knows, they could be a pretty effective team this year. Warkaus didn't stand a chance against Kajaani which obviously is a worrying sign, but as of now I'll think these two as quite even, with a small edge to Santa Claus. Surprisingly both have actually managed to put a preview up, which despite a lot of vague vocabulary indicate that neither team should have anyone of note missing.

PS Kemi - FC YPA 63 18 19
o/u 2.5: 66 34

As much as I've been touting PS Kemi, the estimation from Veikkaus looks a bit too high. The Santa Claus game was promising for Kemi and they would have deserved at least a draw from that, but obviously they're not yet fully clicking. YPA lost a very even game against PK-37 which isn't that poor of a result. Now they'll probably get Akmetkhanov back, and additionally the former YPA and OPS player Vuletic who should be a good player at this level might join them for this game if his permit is cleared. More training time should also be a good thing for YPA. It's likely that neither total nor handicap will offer anything interesting.

FC YPA - PK-37 44 21 29
o/u 2.5: 65 35

FC YPA's training conditions were indeed more horrendous than previously known so the 1-2 defeat against GBK could be classified as a somewhat good result. They'll likely miss two key players in Heikkilä and Akhmetkhanov, on the other side PK-37 will probably miss Halonen, who was their second best scorer last year. With the YPA's missing players I'd say these two are as even as it gets, so -0,25 would be my guess. edit: +0,5 is more than enough for PK-37 as they're much more readier than YPA.

HauPa - GBK 18 19 63
o/u 2.5: 61 39

HauPassion got some positive news from the transfer front when they got U19 national team goalkeeper Pennanen from AC Oulu. While I have strong doubts about his talents, he should still be a much better option than what HauPa had before. Long winter postponed last week's match for HauPa, so this will be their first match. Like I said in the preview, I'm expecting a tough time for HauPa this year as their squad is rather weak and they're mostly relying on their fighting spirit, but of course if everything goes right like last year they're by no means a lock to get relegated. GBK won deservedly against YPA and with Kemi stumbling (though Bet365 stats indicated that Santa scored from both of their shots on goal) they're looking like the favorite now. Class difference is obviously huge, but HauPa's good home record last year is something that should be respected in case GBK gets playable odds. edit: GBK -0,75 is quite nice, under is also a good choice as I think HauPa is still a clear under team until proven otherwise. Also what's good for under is the horrible weather here in Oulu (wind and rain), which will of course affect AC Oulu - JIPPO.

KPV - AC Kajaani 63 18 19
o/u 2.5: 69 31

I have to admit that I'm intrigued to see the odds for this match. As said yesterday, KPV had a solid defensive game against Kemi on the opening day and if that's anything to go by they should be a top-5 team especially now that TP-47 have weakened a lot. AC Kajaani won Warkaus convincingly but I'll still be a little cautious as Warkaus could be a pretty horrible team this year. From the top of my mind away games haven't been that easy for newly promoted teams anyway, so 1.60 as a limit for KPV would feel about right with my hunch too.

FC Santa Claus - PS Kemi 25 20 55
o/u 2.5: 66 34

Santa Claus played an okay game against PK-37, they were probably the better team in the second half but considering that it wasn't a real home game for PK-37 and that PK-37 missed Rönkkö and Halonen for the second half it was the least they could do. KPV executed their bus tactics masterfully against PS Kemi, and I have to admit that KPV might be a much better team than I expected. Or at least when Myntti and Kalliokoski are playing together in the defense it's probably really tough to score against them. But back to PS Kemi, I'm not prepared to completely trash them based on that one game as they were the controlling side on that game, but it certainly lessens my enthusiasm for these otherwise absurd eurobookie odds, that have set Santa Claus as favorites. I mean, we're talking about a team that was nearly relegated last year playing against a team that's predicted to be in top-3 by most people. Injury situation should be about even with both missing a couple of guys, who are not extremely important (Himanka, Toivainen and Pätsi for Kemi and likely at least long-term injured Hänninen from Santa Claus). edit: asian odds are more sane with PS Kemi as -0,5 favorites. Obviously -0,25 would be much better as it looks like it could be available in a short while after the game starts.
