Some Sunday previews for Mother´s Day

MIFK – TamU

The death bells are almost already ringing at Mariehamn for the loser of this match, especially if it is Tampere Utd. Both teams are without a win, TamU also without idea or self-confidence but IFK can not too satisfied with themselves either.

Patrik Rikama, Wilhelm Ingves, Ekhiabhi Okodugha and Johan Carlsson are suffering from minor knocks and are doubftul, unimportant Fredrik Appel will miss the match for sure from MIFK.

MIFKs loss vs. VPS at home came after an appalling performance, but with new signings Strandvall and Martins they do have some new attacking options, which are surely welcomed by striker Mikko Paatelainen who has not gotten enough passes in the latest matches.

Goals from open play is not the first impresssion of this matchs

FF Jaro – Honka

Jaro are still without Eremenko Jr, and face the title candidates in-form FC Honka from Espoo. Extra emphasis must be put to defending, Haka scored 4 goals vs. Jaro last round, and last season Honka scored 5 times in both Veikkausliiga matches vs. Jaro. There have been changes in Jaro since last season, but Honka do really enjoy meeting teams with a weak defense and when they get the taste of goals they hardly stop. Scoring goals is fun and an accepted policy at Honka camp, they seldom start defending their lead.

Defending set pieces was too difficult for Jaro at the Haka match, now they will face also strikers who are happy to keep the ball and take it to the penalty box and wingers who can bring the ball from the halfway line and also very attacking pair of defenders. I am expecting a very busy night for the Jaro defense on Sunday.

Hermanni Vuorinen should return to Honka, Ville Koskimaa is still unlikely to play if his negotiations regarding his contract do not get in order, but the central defence spot is well covered by Roope Heilala.

The key man from Jaros side is the goal-keeper Vitali Teles. Personally I do not believe in him at all, but occasionally he has been a match winner at Jaro home games. A good day is needed from him if Jaro want to dream of a point or three.

Honka have more options for the match winner department. There are always fresh legs available as the material is wide, and when other teams start getting tired Honka start making substitutions, and an equally good player comes in. A luxury that very few Veikkausliiga teams can afford.

Honka have learned to be more patient this season, and a goalless first half would be no surprise, but in the end there will benso many goal chances that an away win looks like the most likely outcome, and if they win it can easily be by a bigger margin.
