A good round goal-wise with an average of 4 goals per match. From an objective football fans point of view it is a good thing, especially now when all matches are televised live.

Haka - FF Jaro 4-3 (2-1)

six out of seven goals were scored from set pieces, and defensively neither of the coaches was too happy about the match. It was a match which again showed the importance of a first goal scored early, it can turn an underish-looking match into a goal fest.

FC Honka - IFK Mariehamn 3-0 (1-0)

Very similar match compared to other Honka performances this season. They keep the ball and create chances until they get the first one. Then they keep on doing exactly the same. The best goal-scorer Hermanni Vuorinen was still unavailable, but Markus Paatelainen finally got some minutes in the first team after a very-long break away from top football because of injury, and he has a big role in the midfield and brings strength and experience into the team.

IFK are not looking good, their new signing Martins did not show anything during the short period on the pitch, and Sebastian Strandvall from Haka was not yet playing, but he is not good enough to raise IFK from the trouble.

AC Oulu - KuPS 2-5 (2-3)

All of Oulu´s defensive weakness were exposed when KuPS got the match going. Oulu had made some changes and left something expected undone, and the 5 goals conceded at home against a relegation candidate should cause some worry for Oulu manager Juha Malinen. KuPS could afford to miss a penalty. Is Oulu´s honeymoon at Veikkausliiga already over?

JJK - TPS 0-2 (0-2)

TPS played without Jonatan Johansson, and played well. JJK could blame tireness, strange homepitch or what ever excuse they can find, but the bottom line is that the better team deservedlly won. TPS are yet to concede a goal.

VPS – HJK 0-3 (0-1)

HJK are flying high, and it was only a matter of time when HJK would start scoring. ”Bad time to concede a goal”, said home side coach Pikkarainen about the Mäkelä´s first one at 45th minute, and basically he is right. Yet it was inevitable in the end. VPS striker Valtter Laaksonen did not take part too big part in this midfield where HJK took over at midfield, and Mäkelä scored his hat trick from close range.

FC Inter - FC Lahti 1-3 (1-0)

The substitution of Jari Litmanen changed the game and Lahti strikers had a field day. Inter new signing Osinachi was no key, and the hopes for success in league for Inter did not get backing last night. Inter need leadership and wider player material, Lahti need to keep their defenders in match fitness.

Tampere Utd - MYPA 1-1 (0-1)

Defensively bad at both ends, in the end no one them deserved to win. Wonder when the panic really strikes at Tampere, Kouvola and Mariehamn? TamU scored their first goal of the season, but have a lot of work to do, the new signing Dema did not change things.
