There is still room for development in the Finnish football culture. There are only a handful of fans but it is slowly getting there. Derby is and should be one of finest moments of the season and I am presenting you the most important ones at the time being.
HJK vc. Fc Honka is a derby as there are only some 7 km from the Finnair Stadium to Tapiolan Urheilupuisto. Honka also used to be the reserve team for some time in the history for HJK.
The relations nowadays are actually very good and many of the players and management of Honka have played also in HJK in the past. Not fierce but intense.
HJK and Fc Lahti have not love lost. This is closest to a game where some hooliganism would be most likely to happen.
Inter Turku and TPS Turku share the same stadion. Very cosy anyway.
Jaro and VPS are from the same region. Important game for both of them.
Haka Valkeakoski are situated some 30 km from the regions capital Tampere where United play.
Lahti and MyPa Myllykoski are regional neighbours.
Nothing really significant here, yet. The country is small and players like to get along with their colleagues also in the future.
