What happened 2008? And why?

The Veikkausliiga was a most interesting competition last season. The surprise team FC Inter was leading from the start to the final round and kept their lead. First time Champions in their history and with a style being the best team in the country.


Fc Honka took silver with a solid performance and I can honestly say that it was more than justified. Two best teams in the country who believed in what they were doing, and two best managers respectively in Job Dragtsma and Mika Lehkosuo.

Bronze went also to a surprise team when Fc Lahti took also their 1st medal ever in the Veikkausliiga history, just like Honka & Lahti.

HJK was a disappointing 4th but won the Finnish cup.

Reigning champions Tampere United were far from top this year after losing two of their most influential players and getting plain shite in return. Bad luck and bad managing I must say.

KooTeePee was as bad as expected and was relegated after only winning once in the whole season. JJK from Jyväskylä won the promotion in somewhat mediocre Ykkönen and the runners-up Fc Viikingit lost the promotion play-offs against a rather solid KuPS from Kuopio who stayed in the top-flight.
